Cool apps to use with your MoviePeg

April 1, 2010

After getting loads of emails asking ” what is the clock app you feature on the site?”, we’ve put together a little list of some great apps to use with MoviePeg. But we know there’s a lot more, so add your own recommendations in the comments below.

So let’s start with the one we get asked about the most. The flip clock on the site is an app called Night Stand and here at MoviePeg HQ it’s one of our fave clock apps.

Speaking of clocks, for an alternative twist on the usual way of telling time, check out It’s a Clock by our friend Hoss Gifford. We love it.

We’ve already mentioned the fab iMotion in a previous post, but there’s a few other time lapse / animation apps out there, of which TimeLapse is one and works great with a MoviePeg.

MoviePeg works great as a photo frame. DreamStream will stream your photos from Facebook, Flickr, RSS feed or your photo library.

For a great sports experience, Sky Mobile TV News and Sports is a match made in heaven when you add a MoviePeg to your iPhone.

Meanwhile in the kitchen we love Jamie’s 20 Minute Meals – now there’s no need to precariously prop up your iPhone with that salt cellar.

iQuarium is a lovely little aquarium app, great for just setting up with your MoviePeg to get an instant aquarium without the mess.

We’d love to know what you’re using with MoviePeg. Tell us about other great apps in the comments below…

Instant stop motion studio with MoviePeg and iMotion

March 30, 2010

MoviePeg has lots of uses beyond simply watching a movie. In fact, using a MoviePeg, your iPhone and the fab iMotion app, you can make your own stop motion movies in no time at all. Check out our humble efforts below – part of our forthcoming "Big Foot" trilogy.

We love it when people get their MoviePeg and feel the need to show the world. Here’s a few we picked up from Flickr. Big thanks from the MoviePeg team, and remember we love to hear about how you’re using your MoviePeg.

MoviePeg and the dock connector

March 21, 2010

We've had a few questions about whether the dock connector can fit into the iPhone when using a MoviePeg in landscape mode. The answer is of course yes. So now you can charge your iPhone overnight and use it as a cool looking clock / alarm (we love the Night Stand app) at the same time.

MoviePeg – make your own in-flight entertainment console

March 20, 2010

Whilst many airlines now have on-demand entertainment systems to keep you occupied during a flight, you're always at the mercy of the editorial control of someone else when it comes to content. That's why I always fill my iPhone with my fave movies, only now with MoviePeg in my pocket, that experience of watching is a million times better – even sat in economy.

Bonus points if you can spot what movie I was watching…

iPal and MoviePeg creates instant party friendly jukebox.

March 19, 2010

Here at MoviePeg HQ we've always been a big fan of the beautiful iPal from Tivoli Audio, But one thing it lacks is an actual dock for your iPhone to sit in whilst it's connected to the iPal. Now however simply add a MoviePeg and you have a lovely little jukebox at your disposal – great for parties so your guests can leaf through your album collection with ease.

Night Stand iPhone app as featured on the MoviePeg site

March 18, 2010

We’re getting a lot of emails about the flip clock we’re using as our night stand on the MoviePeg site. Well the app is called “night stand” and is rather fab, especially when paired with a MoviePeg.
